Professor Rajesh Botchu- Travelling Professorship award

Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist, Rajesh Botchu, has been awarded the prestigious RCR/BSSR Travelling Professorship for 2025.

This is awarded on an annual basis to one clinician and will entail Professor Botchu visiting various clinical centres throughout the UK to share his knowledge and experience in MSK Radiology.

Professor Botchu has a strong research interest, having published 375 papers in peer reviewed journals and is an editor of three textbooks.
He works extensively within oncology to further radiological practices in identifying and treating bone and soft tissue tumours, and is a contributor to https://www.mskradiology4u.co.uk/ an educational website to support ongoing learning in radiology best practice.

During the Travelling Professorship, Professor Botchu will share his experiences with radiologists across the UK and highlight the advancements in interventional radiology that contribute to improved patient outcomes via educational lectures, to educate other radiologists in research and interventional radiology.

In addition to being awarded the Travelling Professorhip, Professor Rajesh Botchu has recently had a book published titled: “Imaging of the Hip & Bony Pelvis: Techniques and Applications (Medical Radiology).“

This volume provides an up-to-date and comprehensive review of imaging of the hip.
In the first part of the book, the various techniques employed when imaging the hip are discussed in detail. Individual chapters are devoted to radiography, computed tomography, ultrasound and MRI.
The second part then documents the application of these techniques to the diverse application and diseases encountered in the hip.
