We have a new ultrasound scanner here, which provides high quality imaging. Ultrasound uses, as the name suggests, sound waves to generate pictures and is good for many soft-tissue techniques such as looking at muscles and tendons, but also looking at the abdomen and pelvis including for gallstones and kidney stones. Our scans are performed by specialist radiologists and sonographers, who may often discuss the result with you on the day.
We also have the facility to perform ultrasound guided steroid injections, which is often more accurate than an injection which might be performed by your GP or consultant.
